story:
I was on the intersection of Memorial and Durand (for us SEW people) turning left onto Durand. The minivan was behind a civic which was turning right so I assumed I had enough time to get through the intersection safely and that was that. Well, The minivan decides to pull around the damn Civic, race out into the intersection just as I was turning left and by the time I hit the brakes and tried to steer out of the way, it was too late. She ended up getting away with a dented rear sliding door as well as scratches here and there and one Seriously scratched up wheel. I got the damage done plus my side was dented completely in (I was able to pop it out after the cop saw it etc.) Well, that's the story. $156.20 fine for failure to yeild turning left. Damn minivans....

Didn't you just get your license, like, 6 months ago?

Yeah...that doesn't mean shit What. Both of my friends got into accidents when they had their licenses for less than 3 months. One of the cars was totaled.

Ouch! Sorry. I know how I'd feel if that were my car.

Yes, it means a lot. YOU ARE A NOVICE DRIVER. I wouldn't have gotten into that accident.

Once again, a showing of poor leadership skills. Moderators should not be causing accidents.

I'll leave you alone, I know how hurtful it feels to have a damaged car.

ouch satty, sorry to hear that...... It was probably one of those damn FIBs that hit you.

damn that sucks bad. :ohcrap:
how much is it gonna cost to get fixed? Or is your insurance gonna cover it?

posted by  TurboKaren512

I only had Liability. It'll cover the woman's van. As for my car, Im gonna try and grab a new fender , re-bend the hood, sand and primer the fendeer and hood, and then wait till next spring for the bumper. Depending on how my courtdate goes...

There goes your insurance...up, up,... :ohcrap: :banghead:

It'll still only be about 5-600 for 6 months...It was 400.

Just out of curiosity, say you went to court and beat the ticket, whose insurance covers the damages?

posted by  JaneiR36

Ouch! That hurts!
Anyway, it doesn't look serious, does it?

man didnt you just get that car like last week?

I hope you're joking...

Janeil, My insurence would cover her damages. I'm on my own with mine no matter what.

Karburator, it's not that serious, just need a new bumper, fender and hood (screw tryin to bang them out. I'll just get some cheap ones from my friend and JY to re-paint)

i must have you confused with someone else then...

Geez...Sorry to hear that. Satty.....stooopid motorists lol

Yep Satty, know exactly where you were. Sorry to hear about you car man. Doesn't look too bad though and with a few parts from the local bone yard you should have her back to new in no time.

I will suggest City Auto Salvage down in IL as a good place for inexpensive parts. Take 41 down to Washington and head East. It is just a block or two east of Hwy 41.

It is amazing how fast an accident happens. It is never good to assume what the other driver is going to do. Unfortuneately there are too many idotic drivers in our area so you need to be extra careful. Glad this lesson only cost a fender and some other parts.

almost a year ago my little green peugeot 1.5XL got written off when it got smashed into on the side by a muppet in a ford sierra.. ill put some pictures on later of the damage. the car was a write off n that really shook me up for a bit.. i had only been a driver for 3 months.

Judging from the pictures, dude, those aren't bad at all. IMO, they don't come close to constituting new a fender, and definately not a new hood.

Meh, she's up for sale so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Selling it as is. New clutch, tranny, rear right hub assm. and a lot of other new parts. over 4 grand in repairs so ya....

I don't know yet. I'll have to see what's possible on these engines. Berettas came with them after 94 so I'm sure some of the modifications can be the same.

Those damn women in those minivans and their stupid little kids strapped in the back seats should be banned from public highways!!!!! They are nothing but an accident waiting to happen. Damn them :screwy:

I'm surprised you did'nt get a citation for your black outs. Are those legal in your state?

As long as they're off at night they are. Daytime they could give a shit less....I've passed so many cops with them on and they're just like "Eh, it's only a 20 dollar ticket...screw it" Kinda funny now that I think about it.
