a/c pulley stuck

Home  \  Repairs & Maintenance  \  a/c pulley stuck

I have a 95 Ford Aerostar 3.0 that I haven't been able to get started. After burning my belt off, I now know that the a/c pulley isn't turning. What would cause this and how do I fix it? I doubt this has anything to do with it, but I also noticed that the a/c clutch switch was disconnected, so I reconnected it. I just bought the van so I don't know much about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Are you sure the clutch isn't engaged? Try dis-connecting it, the pulley that spins the compressor may be seized.

bearings in the a/c pulley/clutch aare probably shot if the pulley is siezed, either you might be able to bypass it with a different belt, or need the compressor serviced, probably not cheap
