I can't figure this one out. I have taken it to three mechanics and no one can seem to solve the puzzle.
Simply put, the car does not idle in gear. I have replaced the plugs and wires, PCV valve, intake manifold gasket, a few vaccuum hoses, a compression test, ran a sensor check on it, nothing. I sprayed ether and no more leaks, but still not wanting to idle in gear. I have to put the car in neutral and rev engine a bit. Any ideas?

do you have a tach find out the rpm and how far off spec it is check the throttle body where the gas pedal cable hooks up to and check the throttle plate might be as simple as turning the idle screw up a little
