I have recently taken in a 93 ford escort LX (Manual Transmission), and I've heard some noise during 5th gear...
While changing oils today... after draining the trans fluid, it turns out there was about 2 ounces of oil in there. The previous owner of the car seamed to have destroyed the top whole (spedometer is connected here)
Rubber sealant had been placed and it seemed as if it was beat with a hammer :-|
Anyways, now that I am trying to put new fluid in (I can not afford a new transmission at this time), the trans fluid can't go down very well... Is there another way I could pour trans fluid into it? Possibly through a hose? Another bolt going into it? Anything.
It will take me forever to do it as is with a teaspoon at a time. I have 2 quarts to go!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
There should be a fill level hole on the side of the tranny unless there is a dipstick.
