i have a 90somthing ford festiva... i need diagrams for removal/replacement of clutch,pressure plate ect.anyone help?? :banghead:
So you're trying to replace the clutch and you don't even know what year the vehicle is..
Getting the info straight is key to getting the job done right in the first place.
Replacing a clutch plate and pressure plate is hardly rocket science. Just
make sure you replace the throwout bearing at the same time and do not put
anything more than the thinnest smear of grease of the spline. Take a lot
of time to make sure the clutch plate is central (concentric) with the
flywheel....you can get a plate alignment palstic tool for close to nix if
you ask the parts supplier nicely.
When you take the pressure plate off check for scoring, but more importantly check the flywheel face is not grooved. Chances are you will need to have the flywheel refaced and stepped, so budget accordingly.
