I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee that has a big problem. It is hard to accelerate at first but when you get around 50 it seems to feel okay. It over heats very fast and I did replace the thermastate. So I don't know what I am suppose to do now. The engine when driving it for 10 minutes starts to smell
very burnt. Sorry for the discription I don't have any other way to explain. Thank you.

1 hard to accelerate
2 over heats quickly
3 burning smell
my first answer would be a plugged converter(exhaust system)
second cooling fans not working (but this would not affect acceleration)or water pump no good(poor circulation)
