about a month ago i bought a 1987 grand am se 2 door v6.... ive been bakin the tires, doin reverse doughnuts, tight U-turns since last week.... i was drivin to school when it suddenly turned off and rolled to the side of the road, we checked to see if the coil pack was giving off spark, and it wasnt... i bought a coil pack for 200$ and that didnt work, ppl say it could be anything from the module, to the crankshaft sensor, to the harmonic balancer... any ideas?
the crank sensor needs to be check with an ohm's meter this is the signal
to the module to fire the coils with the ecm monitoring the timing and
ajusting as nessasary
the coils on the module should be good as normally only one will go bad at a time
so basically buy a new crank sensor hey?
well if you don't want to test it then ya put a new one on or take it off and bring it with you most parts store's have meter's and can test it compared to a new one
