I have a '97 Chrysler T&C 3.3 with 95k. Only when idling and only once in while with the AC on, the engine begins to overhead. The thermostat is fairly new. Any ideas? Thanks!

hey, the same thing happened to my 89 olds for a while. check the temp sensor and make sure the fans didnt come inplugged. if that isnt the prob, have the computer checked, most auto part stores can do it or at least tell you how to do it. hope that helps

Or you couldcheck to see if the thermostat is defective, but I believe this is the thread to introduce yourself, not ask mechanical questions

does it overheat or just running hotter with ac on
i know i may come of a little anal on this one but i've used many different thermostats from the universal fit at walmart to gate's and other brand's at the parts store's but i always have problems(not heating up or sticking open) so i gave up and went back to the dealer only for the thermostats
i dont know why but they always work for me the temp is consistent
the other thing here is i belive you have a dual fan set up one may be dead
