2000 dodge avenger tranny problem

Out of the blue my dodge avenger doesnt want to shift out of second gear, I dont have access to a scanner. Could it be the speed sensor? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks

it's going into something called Limp mode, it is to protect your transmission from further damage, go to a tranny expert it could be a cilnoid, or if you keep driving it like this your tranny will be totally burnt out. Chrysler transmissions are fairly inexpensive to have it rebuilt if it is a soft rebuild it'll cost approx $1800 Canadian range.
