car problem
car problem
i own a 94 ford tempo gl, 2.3l, four door. I recently replace the spark
plugs, the wires, distributor, I.A.C, air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter,
the convertor, o2 sensor, thermostat, transmission filter and oil change to
try and get it running well, just past over 100,000 km. However recently
ran into a problem, when driving alone at a steady speed usually between 60
to 90 km/hr, the car seems like it lost power and gains it back within a
second. I constantly does this back and forth til I give it more gas or
take my foot off the gas. I was thinking that it is the EGR valve, it's the
original by the looks of it. Could this be the problem and if so is it easy
to do myself. It doesn't seem like the fuel pump because is get power as
soon as I touch the gas, well as much as you get from a tempo. My second
problem is that when I first start my car it idles high around 1100 rpms, I
have to wait 10 minutes before it'll slow drop, or shift it to drive and
drive it at least to feet and put it back in park before it idles normally
around 800 rpms. What could be causing this ? By the way it does this on
hot and cold days (i know when your cars cold it idles highier), and even
after just driving it and let it sit up to 10 minutes. Could it be the
coolant sensor or intake air sensor reading that the car or air is colder
then what it is ?
Any help would be helpful. thanks
