1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse help - starting prob.
Hi, i own a 1998 mitsubishi Eclipse GS.

i recently bought this car and when i start it for the first time of the day, or after sitting for a long time, it hesitates... when it starts it goes to real low RPM's and then shoots up, and the first time i get it on the road it tries to die when i slowly drop the clutch in first. So i give it some gas and a few seconds later the RPM's shoot up, to wherever i have the pedal down to.

I just got the Oil changed, put a blend of syntec in. I also bought a K&N air filter not that that would prolly do it but o well.

Whats next? should i buy fuel injector cleaner? or do new boots and plugs?

other info that might be nice to know...
-The engine only has about 20k on it, it was rebuilt do to a timing belt blown because some idiot didnt know what the hell he was doing when he installed a power steering unit... (sounds odd but true)
-Car had not been driven for a year... sat in a guys garage, he started it once a week tho but prolly didnt help it at all...

I would try cleaning the injectors. Also, I would recommend changing the plugs and plug wires (can't hurt). Hope that helps, if not let us know. :thumbs:

im going to clean the injectors, but before i do i had one question, since it sat for so long is it possible theyre rusted or ruined? also, since then the car has been running better, im still thinking of seafoaming it tho...
