My 98 Mercury Mystique isn't starting up properly; the ignition "cranks" for a bit and thereafter the oil and check engine signals light up. It doesn't seem to be the problem of the battery as I recently had that replaced. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thanks.
Don't those lights come on with the ignition?
Reread my post. They STAY lit following the process.
does the car actually start? and the lights come on or are you cranking then looking down and noticing the lights when the car doesnt start?
if the car doesnt start and the key is still in the on position i believe
the lights should stay on
the go out after the car starts
have you checked for spark?
does the car start or not?
your post says isnt starting properly
if it does start and the lights stay on other then check engine light id look at alternator
