New guage questions

Hey,

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus GL and I want to replace the stock gauges with custom ones (http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=FD96TR%2D3288RGX) and I was wondering about how much it would cost to have it professionally installed?

Also, my car is a Canadian model though the odometer of this kit reads in miles, will the odometer, since it was on KM, still read in Km or will they have to switch it to miles or what?

Thanks,

chaz ;)

Ok, now that we got that straight......

Stay away from those cheap-assed gauge sets from procar-parts. My guess is that you bid on them or "bought them now" from ebay or found their website. I ordered them for my 96 Grand Am. They arrived in a battered and beaten to hell box but they appeared fine. No instructions or anything, thank GOD I know what I am doing. I installed them and they worked for a week then they crapped out. I had to UN-install them and ship them back and getting the procart parts people to work with me was like pulling teeth. Their company sucks and is run by incompetent chinese or some freakin asianese folks in Ca. They can hardly speak english when you call them on the phone. I said F them M/F'rs...I wont EVER recommend that company to ANYONE. Good luck.

Demon Tweeks (UK modification parts company)
And Halfords
And basically many other tuning "specialists" that arn't used to dealing with people like me who actually know what they want and not "boy racers" who don't have a clue and have the ability to realise that they sell cheap crap...! :cussing:

for custom gages.. you have to build a custom dash for it wouldent you? or at least rebuild the inside where the gauges go?

When you start talking " CUSTOM " which is such an, oh, so wide area and I'm sure you may get many different responses. :smoke:

Alright.. ok.. hows this..

I went out.. bought.. an RPM Guage.. Speedometer, Oil Pressure.. and... I cant think what other guages I have in that saturn..

How would I put them in.. wireing wouldent be a problem.. cuz I can normally wire just about anything.. I just dont know how I would go about getting them in their.. and getting rid of the old stuff.. but not all of it.. because I would still like the service engine soon light.. yadda yadda..

But I think it would be cool to change out those old crappy looking guages..

Ok try this..
I dident actually buy them.. I am just saying if I did..

How would I go about putting them in the dash? and still make it look good?
I would have to get rid of the old guages which is one big peice of plastic that has all of them on their..

Then buy guages that fit into the existing holes for the current guages... :hi:

but.. the guages are all one peice.. ah screw it nm lol.. :banghead:
