Crap that was a shottie post,"should i go used or used?" lol. Its not my money so im not sure on how much is to be spent, on students pay cheaper is better. I live in a small town so i dunno if any of the scrap yards would have a tracer but ill look. As far prices and warranties, i havent found one yet so i dunno.

thx for putting up with my lame reply, lol

Dude, you finally asked one of THOSE questions. How much money do you have to spend? How long do you want it to last? How much difference in price is there between reman and used? What kind of warranties do they come with?

Look at it this way. You already have a used alternator, who says the next one will be any better. The reman will usually last longer but... Sometimes you end up getting a near new one from a yard for less. Decisions, decisions.

A Tracer is nothing more than an Escort with a different name. There should be millions of them around.

Just make sure you disconnect the negative post on the battery before you start, then hook it back up last. Also don't over tighten the belt or else you'll tear up the bearings. Have fun.

Thanks, got some more for ya tho (whats new, eh) what about belt tension? and im guessing im gonna need a torque wrench?

1. Torque wrench, we don't need no stinking torque wrench. :D

2. Like I said earlier just don't over tighten the belt. If you're not sure start loose and if it slips tighten it more.
