CD is jammed in 2001 Wrangler Stereo
My roommate got a burned CD stuck in 2001 Wrangler stereo. The stereo has decided not to eject the cd because it does not identify anything currerntly loaded in the cd player. Any ideas on how to fix this situation are gladly appreciated. (I wish vwhobo were here  ). Thanks all
Hello, If you have the square factory radio/cd player where the CD is located at the top; the CD player features of the Jeep are such that as long as the ignition switch is NOT in the "on" or "accessory" position you can take a pair of flat blade long pliers and remove it. They will open enough to slide one of the blades underneath the disc and grab it by the edge and ease the disc out without damage. Or you can use a dental pick with the 90 degree end and hook the disc in the center hole and lift it up and out. If you are getting an "error" signal on the display this is a good indicator that the damaged disc is being recognized but can not be ejected. These often occur when a disc is getting excessive vibration, inserted upside down, water condensation are on the optics or in your case, a damaged disc. If you are not getting this error signal, odds are good that the disc is actually stuck from being warped and gentle removal is all you have left. Take your time in any case and try to remove it slowly and carefully.
Thanks for the info
You're welcome, let us know how it goes. Sincerely, MsSnapon
