I just bought my son a 1988 Oldsmobile delta 88 it runs good and is a high
miler.I got it home and there is a horrible noise in the engine like there
is marbles in the motor.I can't seem to pin point it but seems louder
towards the firewall.I am asking if anyone has had this and how they fixed
it.

lol there are many different reasons for that sound to happen. it could be
lifters collapsing and spun bearings.tear into the motor. for a start check
those that i mentioned. if i were u, high milage engine in all, buy a whole
rebuild kit for it and overhual the old SOB

First take off the valve cover and see if you're springs are broken or too
loose. You can run the engine without it on, it just might make a mess, but
don't run it for too long. That may not be it, but it's where I'd start.
