hi guys i am just looking for a bit of help i tried to do the front brake
discs
but when i take the 4 bolts out of the disc the discs wobbles about
but there is a metal plate which is round in front of the disc
so i would need to take the cv joint nut off am just wondering if the
bearings are on the plate and will it damage them
if i take that plate that i need off has 4 threaded bits which is to hold
the front wheel on

From what I recall, most Jap or Korean cars or that era aren't set up as
you describe. If it's as I think it is, the discs are screwed to the hub
with alignment scrwes (not essential screws, just for wheel nut alignment
purposes). It might just be that the disc has rusted itself to the hub.
Have you tried hitting it with a hammer?

the discs is loose but it can't come off because
of the round metal wheel that has 4 threaded bits
that hold the wheel nuts and wheel
but also the metal disc takes 4 bolts
which are screwed into the disc to hold it in place
the big nut in the centre hold the driveshaft thats whats stopping the
discs coming off :( am just wondering if that wheel will have bearing
on it
i sat the new disc over the front of the old one
so somehow that stupid wheel needs to come off

To be honest you have me confused now. You say that the disc's loose, and
yet you say it's being held in place by the driveshaft nut...I don't see
how that's possible really, as if it was that that was securing the discs
it should be tight...The only discs held in place like that as far as I
remember, are Rover discs (even then I'm not entirely sure to be honest,
lol). I've read over what you have described again and can picture what
you're saying...I think, lol. So basically there's like a hub on top ob the
disc's structure itself, that the wheels bolt to? That's all I can think
you mean. Like in the picture as follows...

yes i think so lol
i have done many brake discs m8
just not on a hyundai
the centre of the new brake discs i bought have a massive hole in the
middle
off them
and the front brake discs have 4 holes which is for
the threaded parts that holds the wheel on
but that same hub things in the middle has also got 4 12mm bols to hold
the disc in place so somehow the disc comes off :screwy:

All discs have holes in mate...Otherwise there'd be problems putting them
on vehicles, lol. I think I see what you're saying now. It should just be a
case of unbolting the hub fixing. There's certainly no fear of damaging the
bearing etc, because this will more than likely be behind the set up.

yes all discs have 4 holes
but these discs have 8
4 for the and 4 to hold disc in place 4 12mm ones
so i took them out all i can do is turn the discs etc..........
because of the round centre metal wheel the front disc can't get by it
so its safe to take off the cv joint nut the centre bolt ?
do u get what i am trying to say ??

that its not brake discs like on japanese cars
that are just held on with a star screw and the wheel
that pic is my disc them 4 holes is for the bolts and the round disc goes
over the top of the brake disc thats the part that has the 4 thread parts
for the wheel

If you need to unscrew the driveshaft nut, sobeit. The bearing will be
pressed so it won't hurt it. Bearings are generally in two parts, as you
probably know. If one part falls out, that's ok, just make sure when you
put it back together you don't forget the washer! You will also need to
torque the driveshaft bolts up and probably hit the edge with a chizel (if
it was like that initially) as a safety measure to make sure they can't
'unscrew'...They might also be opposite thread, so bear this in mind when
you go about removing them!

look at my last post m8 then u possibly know what i meant
the actual front brake discs has 4 holes and they are threaded
and the part i want off has 4 thread bits that hold the wheel and the front
discs in place look at the picture above its a split pin that goes through
the nut and drive shaft nut and bent over mate no need for chisel

i just grudge paying the garage around £175 to do it
and i told them i have the brake discs already
the thing i want to take off is called the HUB m8
thats whats stopping the discs coming off
lol i phoned a mobile mechanic

come off quite easy m8 ?

Some of these may be a little more complicated - as in pressed on to the
hub and steering knuckle.
I would suggest getting a shop manual for the car and understanding what is
involved before trying to remove the rotors on some Asian cars.

yes m8 its pressed on i believe i take the axle nut off and use a
hub puller to pull the hub offf right ?

On many of these cars, that is correct. I suggest you get a shop manual
and verify the correct procedures.
