For full features; Go to 99 LHS leaking brakes and white exhaust
:banghead: I have a 1999 Chrysler LHS 245,000kms. My brake resorvoir was
low so I added brake fluid, started the car and pumped the brakes to ensure
fluid was distributed throughout the system. As I was pumping the brakes
I noticed a significant amount of white exhaust which had a burnt oil
smell. Brakes continue to lose significant amount amount of fluid but no
evidence of brake fluid on the driveway. This problem arose overnight. No
loss of engine coolant or engine oil. Just returned from a 5000 km trip a
week or so ago and absolutely no problems encountered. First thought of a
head gasket but white exhaust disipates until I begin pumping the brakes.

Well your brakes will not affect the exhaust in anyway. As far as losing
fluid does it have drums in the rear, I have seen the pistons inside the
drums losing fluid. It's hard to tell without taking the drum off so if you
don't see any lines leaking I'd check there. A new piston shouldn't be to
expensive if it is, just a hassle of bleeding the brakes back to front.
As far as the smoke give it a tuneup, if that doesn't help possibly valve
seals, which is pricey from a machine shop and nothing I'd ever want to do
myself. Also if it's only on start up check your O2 sensors. They do
control air/fuel mixture which I've heard can cause white smoke.
