Hi, im looking for a new car..iv found a Saturn Ion Redline...as you know they are already supercharged stock..but 205hp stock isnt enough for the mainstreet cars in the towns close to me...would i be able to put a turbo onto this car with the supercharger on it????

thanks, todd posted by  toddofotto

you can boost and super any car... its all about how much money you have...

if you ask me, you'd be better off just swaping in a ls1 motor. or flat out buying a better car. srt4's are pretty good bang for the buck. posted by  SubarusRmyThing

A RWD LS1 would be hard to swap into a FWD Saturn I would think lol.

I have seen a supercharged and turbocharged engine, but you have to really build your engine cause its a lot of pressure goin through it, definately not on a stock block and internals.

You can try a smaller pulley, intake, exhaust, injectors, bored TB, there are a lot of ways to make more power of a supercharged engine as well, dont think turbos have the market to themselves.

Of course, after these mods, a tune is a must especially on an FI motor. posted by  newyorker

it can be boosted with both and still only run safe levels of boost. it depends how you have it tuned. super for good low end boost, turbo for the good high end, you'll be screamming. got a suby buddy with a 92 legacy wagon, superered and turboed. 34 pounds of boost, 400 something awhp, still running the stock block and heads. just lower compression pistons, and better rods, stronger hardware, and a sick turbo and super on it. runs like a champ and not a whole lot of money into it.

fyi slapping in rear diffs isnt even near impossible. quite simple actually in custom swapping terms.

and stock internals dont mean its bad. its all in the tune.

worlds fastest 2.0l evo runs 55 pounds of boost on the stock head gasket, block, crank, axles and tranny. (well sorta strock tranny) posted by  SubarusRmyThing
