alt show's 100% output but when i turn light's,radio,heater alt start's
squealing and output drop's to 0%. I turn everything off and squealing
stop's and output is a 100% again. i assume it is the alt. but guy at
schmuck's said it could still be the battery.:banghead: replacing the alt
cost's more then the battery but only want to replace what is broken.

I would have to say alternator. If the belts spinning on the pulley, you'll
get the squeaking noise. However a bad alternator may have junked your
battery. Happened to me on my old 240sx. Replaced battery twice before I
replaced the alternator. Not sure if that fixed it tho, blew the motor
about a week later.

Had the same issue with my eclipse. Its a bad pully/bearing on the
alternator. Had to go through 4 remans before i got one that worked. See if
you can get a "new" one if its not too expensive.
