This ones for someone who knows chevys.
I've got an '87 Scotsdale 2WD 1/2 ton and the control arms are sorta
rotted. I looked around and new ones are definately not cheap. However one
of my buddies said they know someone with an '81 3/4ton 2WD who'll sell me
the whole front frame section pretty cheap.
Now what I need to know is if the A-arms are the same. I'm sure the coil
springs are heavier but I don't really care as long as I can put arms on
that aren't rotted to death.
I tried to look it up myself but all I found out is the bushings are the
same. The other truck is a long drive away so if anyone knows if they'll
match up please reply. Thanks

the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton PU has the same SKU or part number number for
control arms. I would suggest running this by a good front end man in the
area you live in just to verify before buying.
I would make sure the ones you are getting aren't from something which has
been wrecked with the possibility of the control arms being bent

Good looking out man, I still haven't seen the truck they're coming out of
so I wont pay the guy. Been too busy doing the struts and coil overs in my
car. Now that they're all done those control arms are my next mission.
Although I've heard a lot of horror stories about how the bushings are a
real pain to replace.
