For full features; Go to Wheel Bearing Maybe.......
I own a 2004 hyundai accent, 4 door, auto with a/c. It has 78 000 km. When
ever I make a left turn, I get a noise coming from the wheel. Sounds like
metal on metal. When I am at a stop I get no noise making a turn left and
right. I have not noticed any play in the steering, and no viberation.
There is no noise traveling straight and none doing 60 km. Is this the
wheel bearing??? I thought possibly that this could be a loose brake pad
rubbing the rotor. Could that be possible or is wheel bearing more like
it.
thanks for any advice

If you hear the sound while turning left only, then id have to say front
drivers side (n/a) wheel bearing
when turning right you don't hear it, because there is more weight on it
keeping it quiet
that was the case as per my car anyway

Jacked up the car and took another look. Turns out it was the backing plate
rubbing against the rotor. Bend it back and no more noise. Don't know how
all of a sudden it got bend.

strange, but better than having to shell out over $100

That actually happened to me. After I installed new struts in my car,
somewhere along the line I bent that dust cover in enough to rub the rotor.
I have to say tho, judging by your description, I would've guessed wheel
bearing as well.
