Fuel pump problem??

Home  \  Repairs & Maintenance  \  Fuel pump problem??

I have a 200 chevy venture van. about 95k miles on it.
It runs great but abouta month ago, I started having issues with the gauge. After filling up the gas tank, the gauge reads 1/2 full. Other times, after starting the car it will read full, but then several days later it reads less than half. Since I keep track of my mileage, I have a pretty good idea of how full the tank is so when I know the tank is at about 1/4 and the gauge reads full...
Does anyone know - Is this a symptom of a faulty pump float?? In order to correct this, will I need a new fuel pump??

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try replacing the fuel sending unit.

probably a faulty sending unit, common GM problem. Not easy to replace, as I believe it requires dropping the gas tank.
