I just got my oil change and the mechanic said he put in 6.1 quartz of oil
but when he went to check the oil level it just barely passed the minimum
amt line. When I got home I checked it myself and couldn't really tell
where the line reached on the dip stick myself. Is new oil really light
that you can't tell or did the oil go off somewhere else? I added 1/2 a
quart just incase but still coudn't see the oil level on the dip stick.
When I wiped on a paper towel, there was some oil. Should I be concerned?

Fresh oil will be clean and somewhat clear. What kinda car?
