I have a 1991 Pontiac Firebird 5.0L V8 Automatic and everytime i put the peddle to the floor, it makes a loud cluck noise, and it feels like it is under the drivers seat area. This only happans going from 1st gear to 2nd gear, i though it might be a U-joint but mabey you guys can tell me what it is.

A little bird has told me that it is most likely a broken transmission mount.

Very common problem with that car.

With basic hand tools, some jack stands and a floor jack you can swap the mount in about 1/2 hour.

The mount should cost about $20.

Thanks you guys, it was a broken transmission mount. The transmission was jumping a good 6 inches. It is fixed and working great.
