i have a flowmaster american thunder ehaust system. there is also an h-crossover pipe(car was bought like that so im pretty sure thats what it is). i just bought the car and now that it is in NJ it needs to pass an emissions test. I must now get a crossover pipe that has catalytic converters. my question is can i just swap out the off road crossover for one with cats on it? or will i need to replace the whole exhaust system? also can i use company's h-pipe or do i need a flowmaster since thats what the exhaust is and thats the only way it will line up? this is my first time dealing with an exhaust from cats forward so sorry if this question was dumb.
What kinda car is it?
it is a 1994 ford mustang gt. i was also wondering if it mattered if i went from and h-pipe to an x-pipe or vice-versa. would everything still line up?
Just about any h or x pipe designed for you car will fit, doesn't matter what brand, what style or whether it's got cats or not. It'll all bolt right up.
