I just got a 91 mercury cougar LS with a 5.0 V8 and I'm looking for chips, intake, and exhaust systems but apperantly its a rare model or something b/c I can't find anything for it. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's not a rare model. These cars shared engines/transmissions/chassis components with Mustangs. If you want an intake, throttle body, fuel injectors/fuel pressure regulator, intake spacers, aftermarket MAF sensors, or a cold air kit for your car, you'll have to use dedicated '94-'95 mustang parts.

For headers, I believe the factory shorty headers are the same as those used on the '94-'95 mustang also...if that's the case than any shorty headers for '94-'95 mustangs will work(not 100% on that)...or you could try a company called JBA, I don't know their website off-hand but know that they make headers for just about any ford product. Try a webseach and make sure if you don't see your application on their site that you send them an e-mail and ask them if they have anything that'll work for you.

You can also use roller cams, lifters, roller rockers, and heads for any 5.0L High Output engine from '87-93, mustang application. A high performance mustang H-pipe should fit, but I'm not sure(off road H-pipe fit my '88 T-bird with almost no modifications). If you have independent rear suspension, which you should(supposedly all did, but i've seen live axles) then you'll have to get a custom exhaust as it will run under the differential.

You can also use posi's, shift kits, gears, and torque converters meant for your application...look for shift kits for AOD transmissions from '87-'93. Look for gears/a posi for an 8.8" differential in your year range, not specifically model. Torque convertors for '87-'93 will also work.

Any more questions, let me know. I'm a T-bird/Cougar/Mustang specialist...mostly '83-current model year.
