I got a 92 mitsubishi galant auto ..The transmission stays in second gear wether i put in low or high ,and overdrive switch doesnt make any difference either .ive changed the fluid and filter. What could be the problem. :banghead:
Your car is in failsafe mode, it is a safety feature designed to protect the transmission. You probably have a check engine light on. The reason for this is electrical. It could be something simple like a blown fuse or something in the transmission ( shift solenoid, speed sensor, mlps, etc.) The only way you will know what the problem is, is to have the car put on a scanner. Changing fluid does not help.
