Alright, I was given this Buick last week by some friends parents church
buddies. They told me it just needed a new starter, so I figured eh, its
free I could toss a new starter in there, if it doesnt work I get rid of it
if it does I can keep it. So heres where I am at. I tossed in a new
starter, new Battery, and everything is working (I got fuel pressure,
starters cranking etc)BUT, im getting no spark. Normally I would reach
right for the distributer after checking all the wires and spark plugs etc.
But, its a distributerless ignition system.
I dont know anything about this system, so any help would be really, well, helpfull.
Its a 231 v6, 1987 Buick LeSaber costum. Fuel Injection, front wheel drive.
All my previos car experience has been on older cars. (72 and older )
thanks ahead of time for any help.
I hear the crank sensor might be part of the problem. What are ways to test
this out? I know where it is and all, just not how to test it.
Thanks, I will be checking all of the above this weekend. Wish me luck. I
will post what I find out.
