I wish I could help you. Online diagnostics of noises is very difficult. Is this becoming a problem or just an annoyance?
its just an annoyance now but id like to fix it before it becomes a problem
Well whatever I say will just be a wild guess because I can't diagnos
noises properly online.
Is the noise in the transmission or the clutch pedal or linkage? Hydro clutch?
mustangs of that vintage use a cable instead of a hydraulic system. I'm thinking it MAY be a throw-out bearing starting to go....that's usually a rumbling type of noise. When you put your foot on the clutch, does it feel super smooth or is their a little shake, kick-back, strange vibration...anything of that sort?
