Ignition Module Burnout

Home  \  Repairs & Maintenance  \  Ignition Module Burnout

My 1992 Oldsmobile Cierra V8 will suddenly go dead. I can try and start the car and it will turn over but not start. After it sits for a while, you can start it, and it will run a while, and then go dead again.

I had a new ignition module put on it, as my old one tested bad. But the new one did the same thing, and something zapped it. I carried it back, and another module was put on and it also burned out after the car ran for a little while.

So we are sitting at the point of trying to figure what is burning it out.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be zapping the ignition module?

First you need to specify your engine, and its not a V8, no ciera came with a V8.
