I have a 1996 Chevy 1500 Conversion Van. I have 132000 miles on it. I recently spent $800 to have the fuel injection system converted from Spider to multiport injection. I didn't want to do this, I had to because GM sent out a bulletin that says you have to replace the spider injection system. My problem is that this seems to be a general problem with the fuel injection system. Granted I got 130000 miles out of the first one, but in my mind this is a bad engineering decision up front by GM. I have read several complaints on other sites about this. I would like to get some input from this forum since the people here seem much more knowledgeable than I see elsewhere. I have contacted GM and they have dismissed my request that they cover the expense since I did not take the repair to a GM dealer. I did take it to and ASE certified mechanic. I would like to acquire additional ammunition in my fight with GM. Can anyone help?
