Today I planed on replacing the rotors, calipers and pads for my back brakes on my '90 Dodge Daytona... But I found out I can get one of two types of rotors.... Vented and solid.... what's the diffrence and which is better? The vented are like $10 more...
Go with the vented. Being vented they will cool better and are more
structurally sound. Both will reduce the chance of warpage. However on
your car while the calipers are the same either way, to make up for the
extra thickness of the vented rotor the brake pads will be thinner.
Normally the part number is the same with an "A" added at the end.
Have fun and make sure you do a proper bleed after you're finished. While you're at it go ahead and completely flush the system front and rear. You'll be suprised how much better the braking system works with good, clean fluid.
