I am new to this thread and not really a "car" person. I just bought some new headlamps and want to swap out the old ones. I am having trouble getting my hand into either side to take out the old light. I have removed the 2 bolts located on the top of the housing in an effort to take out the housing for easier access. With the 2 removed I am still not able to remove the housing. What can I do to access the light unit?
I'm not sure if you are trying to change the whole headlight assyembly, or
you are trying to replace the headlight bulbs? If you are replacing the
bulbs, you need to unplug the connector by squeezing the sides of the
connector then pull it off the bulb. Next, pull off the black boot. Next
you will see a gold wire that locks the bulb into the housing. Push the end
of the wire in and slide it up. This should release the bulb.
If you are replacing the whole headlight assyembly, you will need to remove the bumper. There are 3 or 4 bolts behind there that need to be removed.
Hope this helps!!!
