Cutting the coils is a great low buck way to lower the truck.... Play around with the amount you cut off. It is surprising how much you drop from just removing one coil. One coil should get you close...

The main thing that would scare me is the fresh paint. I have NEVER worked on a project car that recent paint was not hiding something very bad. I prefer faded original or an obviously older paint...

I'm sure many parts are the same, not sure about the axles..... the easiest way to check is to go to a parts store web site and type in each car, look up the parts in question, write down the part...

sounds like the factory front speakers ran through a cross-over. A cross-over separates the high sounds from the low sounds. So I would guess that they had 2 wires going to the tweeter and 2 wires...
