I read that a manual is typically cheaper and easier to repair compared to an automatic. How much cheaper could it be, exactly? I had to shell out $2,500 for my tranny to be fixed.

What's the difference, on an automatic, between D4 & D3? I typicall drive in D4. The thing I heard was that D3 uses more gas but allows the car to accelerate better.
