GT's ride rough because of the performance suspension. It sounds like someone lowered the car or you have worn springs if it is bottoming out and not the frame popping. :2cents:

Check the PCV and EGR systems, a misfire shouldn't be from the carb unless there is a vacume leak. :2cents:

And if the parking brake is a pedal next to the clutch pedal then the frame that the pedals hang from is probably weak and could use some re-enforcing. :2cents:
