Car manufacturer's like DaimlerChrysler are making Bluetooth available in vehicles coming off the line this fall and Ford is working to equip its cars and trucks with Bluetooth technology as well. SO pretty much everyone is working on it

It is a type of wireless technology that is stronger than an infra red signal. I deal with it a lot with computers, PDA devices, and phone technology.

it's actually a radio signal, but
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/bluetooth1.htm
gives a pretty good explanation of it.

They are actually starting to use it in wireless keyboards and mice now because the signals are a lot faster, which i find pretty nifty (especially when i play counterstrike). Logitech has one out called the "dinuvo" or something, i can't remember. Pretty much still too expensive for my wireless networks and taste though .

as far the topic of automobiles, i didn't know they were going to start using it in cars. as far as i know in it's current form it doesn't have a strong enough signal to be used in place of on-star or pretty much any system away from the car. what exactly are they using it for?
