More likely he was refering to the '55, '56, '57 Chevys better described as Tri-Five's or Shoeboxes.
And while I respect your choice of decade, the Olds 442 was in fact introduced in 1964. F85/Cutlass, 330ci V8, 310 hp, 4 bbl carb, 4-speed, dual exhaust. You could even get it as a 4-door.

I also respect your choice of decade, but. More accurately, retractable hard tops were made as early as 1941 by Chrysler. There may be some even earlier, if you know of one please advise.
