Actually, find yourself a 90-93 Chevy Beretta GTZ with the high output Quad 4 and 5-speed manual in it. They don't have a speedo that goes up to 140+ (They go up to 120), but I've had mine up to 100mph in 3rd gear, adn 130mph in 4th. Haven't tried 5th (Had to sell it too soon before I could). Or if you happen to stuble across one, a few 94 Beretta Z26s came with the HO Quad 4 5-speed. I'd go with a 90, seeing as they were the only year that didn't have a governer. Here's a few pics on what mine looked like (It was bone stock btw minus the headlight covers)

fun little picture I thought I'd share.

why won't he let you get a foreign car? they're way more reliable and generaly get better gas mileage.

oh wow, if he's that patriotic, don't tell him that pretty much everything he owns was made in a different country...

and don't tell him that Canada supplys the jet fuel for your army, or the uranium for the power plants, or power to the eastern seaboard, or softwood lumber, or fresh water....he might freak out.

no offense helghast, but your dad is an idiot. I'd like to see him try to survive in a 3rd world country for more then a month, no food, a shanty for shelter, and no decent work. Would that not make him want to have something better?

Sorry Im really late with these replys, but I was kinda busy.

That picture of my speedo going past 120 is 100% real. I could host a video of you guys of my car doin 130 in 4th gear (Which also does 100 in 3rd gear). But only by request, and it will only be up for maybe a week.

A Dodge Stealth is made in Japan (it's a rebadged Mitsubishi 3000 GT).

And your dad's an idiot. If you buy a foreign branded car made in America, you leave more money in the local economy than if you buy a domestic that's built here in the US OR in Canada/Mexico. Seriously, if he thinks the profits from buying an American Ford stay in the US, then ask him where the billions Ford spent buying Range Rover or Volvo, or Jaguar, or Aston Martin came from? Or the billions GM spent on Alfa, SAAB, Subaru, etc, came from? And whose ECONOMY did those dollars GO to?

Profits from buying a Toyota went into building new facilities here in the US with tens of thousands of US jobs created directly (and tens of thousands of supplimental jobs created indirectly in the areas those plants are located in across the US). Hyundai just built a HUGE new facility here in the US to build cars in, employing tens of thousnads of people directly, and the manufacture of most of the parts is here, too. The profits from buying other Hyundai's went into building that infrastructure in THIS economy.

Your dad apparently has a seriously mistaken notion of where the "profits" go in these companies, if he's more worried about the American executive's villa in the south of France than the Japanese executive's condo in Vail, Colorado...

Lastly, buying a USED Beretta doesn't "help" the US automakers any more than buying a NEW Hyundai does, as the US automakers don't get one single f*cking cent of the purchase price of a USED car. They already GOT their money when it was sold NEW, so whether you buy it or it gets scrapped, it's all the same to them. You aren't supporting SHIT with a used car purchase other than the person/dealership YOU bought it from. And that's the same regardless of where the car originally came from.

Again, it's a case of buy what you like, as the "patriotism" being shown is false. And if your dad wants to argue, he can argue with me directly.
