Hey, Back

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been gone for the past month and half or so. I went back to my home in Atlanta for my inbetween college semesters. I needed a break from the computer as it was, so I didn't bother posting on here.

Lots has actually happened since I left.

The sad news is I no longer have the 300ZXTT as I sold it to a buyer paying $19,500 cash up front for it. Then I went to the Honda dealership to get my Civic SI, but since I didn't keep in contact with them for so long they had sold my SI to a person that paid much more than I signed to do (I said I'd pay exactly MSRP). I finally beat it out of a salesperson that the guy bought my SI for $22,750 before taxes (I was going to pay just under $20k). So I cant really blame them for selling it, afterall they are a business. Selling something for more money = more profit.

That was the last SI on their lot, and they aren't getting another one in for a few months (Honda is purposely making them rare), so that quickly shattered the dream of owning one.

So right now I'm stuck with one vehicle. The 90 Accord, and lots of cash ($20,050). I've decided to try and drive the Accord through college for the next 4-5 years (that's right, this Accord will be getting the classic tag in 4 years). Right now the Accord is sitting on 229,200 miles, and still is ticking like the day it was bought. Gotta love that. I'll probably hit 300k miles in this thing.

I'm redoing the sound system as I found out I need every bit of space in the trunk for the trips from Atlanta to Baton Rouge. So that means I'm selling my 15" DD's and Orion 2500d amp (no offers please, my roomate already has dibs on them). I plan on also getting rid of my Alpine amps and all my speakers. I'm putting top end Focal components up front and probably getting a very powerful Zapco 2-channel (C2K-3.0X) to power them. As for subs, I'm getting 4 of Elemental Designs EU-700 6.5" Subwoofer and mounting them infinite baffle on the rear deck. They will be powered with a Phoenix Gold X600.1 giving each one 150rms. These things are pretty sweet in IB installs and this way I have the entire trunk free, so I cannot wait.

Here's some preliminary pics of the setup....

Focal Utopia 6.5" - $599

Zapco C2K-3.0X - $499

Elemental Designs EU-700 - $200 (4)

Phoenix Gold X600.1 - $200

Glad to be back.

So in 4 years your Accord will have the classic tag? And it's a 1990? My car is an 88' so in 2 years I can have classic tags on my car correct? That makes you exempt from emissions testing right? If so that's sweet.

Also that kinda stinks about the SI but maybe it jsut wasn't meant to be.

Welcome back

I figured you'd left for some reason...Sucks about your Civic, but now you've got some money, so there's some good to it

Welcome back Tbird - seriously think about dumping some of that money into like a 5 year low risk investment...you could seriously double that money...and get a sweet car coming out of college.

I could get something that is much louder and cleaner for half that price, literally.

Sony has some of the shittest equipment out on the market.

But that's how it is in your state? I imagine it will be federal, I will ask my teacher and ask at the DMV when I go to get my regular tags monday. They should know hopefully.

I just did a quick search, seem classic tags can only be on cars that are NOT daily drivers.
