"Pimp" My Ride

Yeah, sorta like MTV's new hit television show, I wanted to get a list of (relatively) cheap modifications I can do on a car to make it slightly "cooler". My sister and myself are either going to end up with some sort of a Jeep (my grandma's) or a '98 BMW 750iL (also hers, definitely the one I want ^_^) and I wanted to come up with some nifty stuff to put on it. I thought the idea of ground lighting sounded pretty cool, what companies make good lights? Any preferances on types? Any other neat mods I can perform with limited automobile skills? What in particular would impress someone like myself? Thanks a bunch, we have about $2,000 to use but neither of us want to use all of it, so keep the prices down if possible. Thanks.

if you do any knid of mod, start at the engine, stickers don't make you go faster.

but the best bit of advice is make it look smooth, kahn, alpina, schnitzner. The police love this kind of stuff, black out the windows with a gradual tint if you have to, but the best thing would be a top ice setup nothing mad, go for quality, and at the end of the day bmw build great cars, its not a 88 escort, give it some respect.

but have some fun at the same time.

good luck

I wonder if this chrome paint's available to buy yet. I'll agree with the people who recommended getting your windows tinted and I also suggest that you look into lip kits.

Excuse the people who mentioned wheels (the standard ones are okay anyway) and tyres that you can't afford, ice that you don't care for and turbos that you both can't afford and don't care for. Some people don't seem to be able to digest other people's questions properly.

I recall a riced out BMW in 2Fast2Furious and it looked pretty good. Not near as riced as they do with Civics, Supras, and Skylines, but still. If you want to put neon on it, go ahead. Just make sure its a dark color with heavily tinted windows. NO WING SPOILER. And none of those loud as muffler tips.

Wow. You would really get a 98 750 handed to you and then treat it like that? I think that once you work for a car, you will fully appreciate it--and not put NEON on a beautiful car like that. Seriously, chicks will dig a 750, but will laugh at one with neon.

IMHO, the car is already good looking (my aunt has a 760 w/ a V12, but same body style/year), already has a good sound stystem, decent wheels--I mean its' a BMW 7 series for cryin out loud!! I know you have to get the bug out of your system, so get the windows tinted and grab a new intake and an exhaust system (not the loudest, riciest one either, please)--then spend the rest on all the ladies the car will get you!

2 grand isn't nearly enough to make it a performance ride.
I guess an intake and exhaust system would help, but I wouldn't go around bragging abt how fast you are with those mods. They'd just be nice when the occasional civic pulls up next to you at a light.
I'd slap some nice looking, maybe gunmetal or smoke gray wheels, low profile, grippy tires on it, and maybe some interior accent blue lights, under the dash board near the feet.
Hmmmm..... Maybe an after market, chrome or just different looking grill?
I don't know how large the aftermarket is for that model beemer, but I'm sure there are parts out there.
Good luck, have fun!

Ar3e you like ten or somthing, thats the dumbest idea ive ever herd. For one you dont "pimp out " a bmw 745, another it dosnt sound like you will be driving for a while and another sounds like if you got that car you would tun it into a ghetto poser little rich kid cars, dude seriously wake up, mtv ruins thoughs classics, they turn them into homie g cars omg, i just i cant handlke this right now, let me take a breether while i think about if i should lynch myself or not, sorry man. JUST DONT, you will lower the value of the car, put it in that way. :

Screw 'em all. If you want to customize your own car, go for it. If they want you to build the car their way, then they need to come over and pay for it to be done their way.

I'd love to start with a 740 or 750 and customize it.
