bought my first car...

hey guys, i finally bought my first car

i got a 92' nissan 240sx. im gonna change all the fluids, air filter, spark plugs, maybe the spark plug wires, a new o2 sensor and a 300zx fuel filter. should i put synthetic oil in it?

Unless the owner's manual calls for it (I doubt it), I wouldn't bother. It would probably be better for your engine, but is not cost effective in your case.

Congrats, I agree with Giant about the synthetic oil, too.

Don't put it in. It will NOT be better for your car. Synthetic motor oil in a 14 year old engine is a bad idea.

Stick with the dino stuff.

I see what you're saying, but surely the mileage the engine has done would count more than the overal age of the engine?

You could say that, but seals will go bad when a car sits without being turned on over time just as they do when the car is driven. An older car makes good use of the impurities and junk found in dino oil to keep aged seals from becoming sprinklers. Try synthetic and theres a good chance you'll start popping $10 every week to top off your oil.
