It’s ironic for me to resurrect this so called ‘dead thread’ don’t you think? Especially when it’s my first post in about 3 months.
I can understand why so many forum members don’t like people bringing old topics to the top of a forum, but I think some consideration should be made for new members or long lost members like me who have something to say about a topic that they didn’t read when it was fresh.
I’ve resurrected topics before that have been so old that none of the members from when I joined “Car-Forums” had even posted to them until then. What I’m saying is that most of the topics from when people like Rich G would post are as good as new to most of the current members.
New members are always joining the forums and interesting points can always be made and learned in topics whether they’re a day old, a month old or years old.
Here’s an example of a topic that I would consider worth resurrecting: -
Someone’s asked how to get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke in a car but five members have already replied and the thread starter is a one-post wonder that won’t have gone into the forums for about six months.
If I had a good alternative to the other five members suggestions then I’d post it for the sake of someone else who might want to get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke in something like their house for resale for example.
Here’s an example of a one and a half year-old topic that I wouldn’t consider worth resurrecting: -
“Who’s going to “Max Power” in July?”
“duh a went to dat 1 dat civic waz mAd tyTe waznt it”
