Out of those, I'd suggest the Evo VII, I prefer it over the 8, the STi, the Bimmer, or the Si...mostly for modification purposes, but they all have good power to start with too

I didn't suggest the Audi, because it's luxurious, and I personally don't find it suitable as a sports car, but that's just IMO, it's still a nice car...

Just got Sports Car magazine the other day, and they had a thing for top 5 sports cars under 20 grand, and here's them:

1. 1997-1999 Porsche Boxster
2. 1997-2002 BMW Z3
3. 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette
4. 2000-2002 Audi S4
5. 2000-2003 Honda S2000
*My personal picks*
6. Acura RSX-S
7. Dodge SRT-4

Hopefully this isn't for a first car, because then I'd suggest something with a bit less power

My usual answer. SRT-4 all the way. You can get one for under 20 grand and they are really fast. Fastest stock car for under 20k. 2.4 liter turbocharged DOHC, and LOTS of aftermarket support from MOPAR and other manufacturers.

Should have specified that it's in no certain order, however I'd prefer to own an RSX Type S over an SRT-4 (Personal Preference), and those were the two top cars that I could think of for under $20,000 that were not in the top 5 list...

IF you could afford it (and I'm not talking just about the price of purchase, but the cost of ownership), then I'd take the Evo VII
