, eh?

They would rather own a total JDM $50,000 Skyline GT-R, than a $1.2m McLaren. The Skyline is the better drifter.

Satty, read up a little more to understand what he (and I) were talking about.

I was actually thinking about lowering mine and getting a new exhaust. But I think I'll save up some more and buy airbag suspension and get a full (from exhaust manifold back) exhaust system from Borla or Magnaflow. Off topic yes, but I felt it should be brought up and didn't think it was good enough for it's own thread.

sure, id put neon on a maybach before even thinking about putting it on a beretta, it would look different but its all good. and hell yea id put neon on a mclaren.

to me, it looks weird when american cars have neon.

edit: i dont think neon is a totally bad thing, its aite to have on some cars. but neon on a maybach is just....funny

well, i am by nature anti-rice, and that includes the neons. so, i pretty much think it's lame. although, on certain ricers it does make it look better. what i mainly don't like is when these little peckerheads drive around in their mom's stock civic's with neons thinking they's pimp. just pathetic.

im anti-rice as well...im more for the "there is no replacement for displacement" philosophy...although im aware of the irony of me owning a Neon...

It's not ironic, it's being a broke teenager. We've all been through it except for little rich kids and liars.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't drive the latest model or fanciest car. You come off alot more like a broke teenager to me.

well, lemme rephrase that: my dad is rich, but i got his old car. and actually, i really like it. it handles really well, has a turning radius on par with a lawnmower, and gets good fuel efficiency. only thing i don't like about it is the 8v in-line four engine. 110hp, 119lb/ft in a 3800lb car doesn't make it exactly "speedy", but it's top speed is said to be 106mph, although i've only gotten it to around 95.

Neon lighting wasn't about going fast, ever. It was always about show car and custom car accenting. Whne you go to an indoor custom/street rod show, like the Oakland Roadster Show, or something lik ethat, teh top customs and street rods have lighitn underneat to both point out the work done, AND to exist as away to add atmoshpere to the display. Street customs started getting into that in the late '80s using underbody neon, for when they were at the night time cruise spots. It's no different than paint accents, or chrome accents, which have been staples of custom cars since the '40s.

Personally, I like it used in moderation of custom cars. It's not a race car thing, but since it doesn't slow a car down, then a street car shouldn't be negatively affected by it. I'd put it on a custom car. I wanted to put it on a few of my custom VWs and my lowrider Falcon, but never got around to it.

This is the type of car I think it works well on. I had actually bought a set of amber underbody lights for it, but ended up not putting them on,as I was going to wait until the final paint went on it. Which it never did, as I ended up trading it on another car.
