It all depends on how good you are with diving standard transmissions...If you're comfortable with them, and have pretty good experience, then you will most likely go faster than an auto...But with 215 horsepower automatic will be enough, and by the sound of it, you're going to be using it for street racing, in which case it's too much.

Generally yes, because of their torque converters, and they're also usually made for a more luxurious ride, and so they'd potentially shift at lower RPM and take a bit longer to shift. Of course automatics are also generally easier to drive in traffic, and up hills...

You are the one driving the car, I would suggest picking what you are more comfortable with.

Manuals generally are faster when driven correctly. although an automatic with an aftermarket torque converter can compete with a manual and is much more consistant, I think a person who really knows how to drive a stick would be able to beat an auto w/ an aftermaket TC by a hair or two. If you would enjoy ripping through the gears, or want to impress loser highschool kids, get a manual. If you're lazy, or have to go through a lot of traffic an auto is the way to go. We can't tell you. It'd be like you telling me I should pick chocolate pudding over tapioca.

They assume every kid that gets a car is going to destroy it or kill someone Any car can go fast enough to kill you, a pedestrian or an oncoming motorist and if you are responsible too, you can have a fast car and still not wreck it or wrap it around a pole.
