fast is a relative term with cars...My 93 5-speed 5.0 LX hatch wasnt even what I would call fast. I want an SVO though... I love turbos...doesnt really matter what they are on though...4, 6, 8, 10, 1000000000000! cylinders, I'm not to worried about it. You can get an SVO motor(complete w/ wiring and all) for $1000. That's what I would do...that or do a 5.0 transplant and junkyard turbo that! BTW, slight horsepower diff arent going to mean much in the long haul...if you want to win, it will be moded anyway(or if bracket racing, you are a good, consistant driver), and not only that, although they are all supposedly created equal, I know for sure, not only if you are in diff parts of the world(air, etc.. differences) even two cars off the same lot wouldn't run exacly the same times and pull exactly the same #s on the dino, even if they are both 5.0 LX hatch manuals with no options or whatever flavor you choose.

Well that's because you can't get a much slower mustang than a 93 hatchback.. well, you can't with the 5.0 motor. That was the worst year for the 5.0's definately. Hatchbacks are just slow, + the 93 motor = really slow. If you want speed you want an 87-88 Notchback 5.0 LX, those were the fastest stock mustangs through that era, pulling mid-13's stock.

mid 13s? hah! I like the hatches better...better weight distribution and sont look like crap....anyway, I bought that car because I needed a daily driver not because I thought it was fast as crap(good deal on it) I fyou want fast from the factory and easy to make even faster, get a turbo buick(grand nationals/t-types). 13s stock and w/ $1500 or less, 11s or less.

Oops, I meant 14s, typo.

It will not run under 11 with $1500. Period. You have absolutely no idea how fast that is. I'll give you the fact that hatchbacks look better, but as for weight distribution, no. The LX 5.0 Notchback weighs a good 500lbs less than a 5.0 hatchback. 93 5.0 hatchbacks did the 1/4 mile in 16.1s, 87/88 15.3s, 87/88 Notchback LX 14.6s. Those are huge differences. When you add 500lbs to a car you can't say it has better weight distribution, that's like me throwing 500lbs in my trunk and saying "It gives it better weight distribution".

It's pretty poor to say that the Notchbacks look like crap, that's immaturity right there, you're just looking for a fight. Loads of people like the Notchback, mostly the older-generation, more people probably like it than the Hatchback, better built car, less problems, faster. Everything about the Notchback is better, though I prefer the Hatchback.

ok new problem. the brakes leak on it. there is a little line splitter type thing and it has a hex bolt on the front of it. i dont really know how to describe it. it has 2 lines from the booster and 2 lines that go somewhere else. it has a hex bolt on the front and there is what appears to be a machined hole in the middle. that is the source of the leak. i woul like to knwo what this is and how to fix it. were gonna go t osome guy who might tell us what it is and how to fix it.

He was talking about a GNX, not a 'stang, and yes, with $1500 into an '87 GNX it will get damn close to 11's.
