Which size engine? If it's the 2.0 zetec, there are a few different turbo kits that would get you well over 200hp.

On the contrary, the 95+ ford contour had the Zetec engine...
Actually, Ford started using it in 93' Mondeo (European Contour).

After researching, Ford didn't use the Zetec in the Escort until the ZX2 in 98', so he has the 110hp SPI 2.0.

I've got the 99 escort zx2 with a 2.0 lt. Zetec engine in it... Would some sort of intake system do anything for it??? Just wondering, but even just a K&N air filter, how much horsepower would that give it???

With just a k&n with the stock airbox..2-3hp
There are several Cold air intakes for the ZX2...they usually add around 5-6hp depending on which one you get.

If your car is automatic, your money is better spent on a superchip first. It will give you 8-10hp, but the best improvement comes from it improving shifts.
