20 days left

20 days until I leave for basic training. I'll be gone for 9 weeks and roughly 4 days. I won't have a computer during that time so, you guys probably won't hear from me til Im done. Not like it's really a big deal, but yeah. Just thought I'd let everyboy know. The day is coming. Much faster than I expected.

Good luck! the best advice I can give is to be like Forest Gump. Do exactly what is asked of you, nothing more, nothing less. Basically try not to think just act and you will do fine. And in the end the mental stress far outweighs the physical. I learned things in boot camp that I apply to challenges on almost a daily basis. And that was almost 19 years ago. USMC combat engineer 90-93.

Well, today is the day. I may come back on here at some point today, but it's not likely. I'll see you guys in 9-10 weeks.

Really wishing you luck. Not many people have the balls to go through with something like that.

Most don't know, really, what they're doing. Of course maybe today there is more of a heightened knowledge, but for the most part, they are oblivious.

So much for that. I got disqualified for my security clearance I needed for my job (Top Secret clearance was required). I don't know the details, but now I had to re-sign up for a different MOS that won't require a clearance PERIOD. Therfore, looks like I'll be hanging around until November 5th.

Not all bad though. I get to be with my wife and son for a while longer.

Sorry to hear that, Satty.

Security clearence can be a nightmare, especially high level clearence, as you really do need to be whiter than white most of the time. Even things you never thought would effect you, often do. Such as family members, speeding tickets etc.
